The 2012 NAB AFL National Draft will be held on the Gold Coast on Thursday November 22nd. Once again Carlton supporters will be kept up to date with the latest news from the Draft via the Carlton website and Carlton Social Media pages, including exclusive interviews with Carlton’s new recruits.

While the National Draft is still over seven weeks away, the interest will continue to build with the Free Agency and AFL Trade Periods over the next three weeks. Trading of players will alter the order of selection for the National Draft but the AFL has released the indicative order following the 2012 AFL Grand Final.

GWS Giants will have first selection in the National Draft, followed by Gold Coast Suns and Melbourne. Carlton’s first selection, in the Order of Selection following the Grand Final, will be at number 11.

The activation by a number of clubs of their compensation selections through players moving to the Gold Coast or GWS has altered the Order of Selection with a total of 22 first round selections (Sydney as the premier team having this final round one selection) and a further selection after the first round, prior to the commencement of round two.

Carlton’s Order of Selection following the Grand Final and prior to any trade periods is:
•    Round One - Selection 11 overall
•    Round Two - Selection 22
•    Round Three - Selection 52
•    Round Four - Selection 60
•    Round Five - Selection 88
•    Round Six - Selection 106
•    Round Seven - Selection 12
