Quiet trade period for Carlton
Blues Coach Mick Malthouse spoke exclusively to CFC TV earlier today about about the Club's expectations leading into the AFL trade period.
“The list itself I am quite happy with… I look at our list and see some very, very exciting young players and senior players that are going to help in that area.
“We will be making minimal changes and will be very selective, we will be relatively quiet and certainly not as active as the media are suggesting,” Malthouse said in an exclusive interview with CFCTV.
Malthouse was at the Carlton Football Club for a short time today and said while he has a number of commitments to be completed before officially commencing at Carlton he will be busy preparing for the 2013 pre-season including the Trade Period and training camp to Arizona in November.
“The season has just ended but in actual fact it is just starting.”
Reflecting on the year in the media with Channel 7 and 3AW and Saturday’s Grand Final Malthouse said the game provided great hope as it confirmed that the best organised and most committed team has a real chance of making it to the Grand Final.
“Get your group working in one direction and the sky is the limit and that’s got to be our goal,” Malthouse said.
He confirmed he was thrilled to be coaching the Carlton Football Club, a club with such a wonderful history.
“The culture of a club involves and evolves around the playing group, staff and very, very much the supporters. If we are on board, all chasing it together, it makes for a wonderful journey.”
