SENIOR Coach David Teague is backing in Carlton’s inclusions to make an impact tomorrow afternoon at the SCG.
The Blues welcomed back Paddy Dow and Zac Fisher in last night’s team announcement, while veteran Marc Murphy also returns to the 22 after being the activated medical sub last weekend.
With Dow to play his first game in over a month and Fisher back after being injured in Round 2, Teague said he and his coaching staff were full of belief in the speedy returnees making an impact.
On Dow, Teague said he was hopeful the No.2 could replicate the form he showed in the opening moments of his last game against Essendon.
“His first quarter looked really strong until he got that black eye and couldn’t see out of it. He has had a couple of little niggles [since then] but he’s back fit now and played really well last week,” Teague said.
“The last time he played, it looked like he played with a sense of belonging and belief at this level. That’s what he needs to do.
“When he goes back to the VFL, he looks like he really believes in himself. We believe in him, we want to see him at his best.”
Fisher returns to the Carlton forward mix after he was a popular pick for all at IKON Park when it came to the best pre-season performers.

Our No.25 is one of two speedy additions to the line-up for Sunday's clash with West Coast.
With his ankle injury now settled, Teague said Fisher had been throwing his weight around at training in recent weeks and was buzzing to return to senior action.
“Zac had a great pre-season and was looking very dynamic: he’s put on a bit of weight and even during the last week and a half, anytime there has been some tackling drills he has really got involved,” he said.
“His first game back last year was against West Coast and it was probably one of his better games, so hopefully he can come out and bring some energy to the group.
“He’s an extrovert and he makes the players around him smile. Hopefully he can bring some energy and get the job done.”
Meanwhile, Teague said that Murphy’s elevation to the starting 22 would likely see him take on the role the injured Michael Gibbons has taken on in recent weeks.
“There are a couple of areas we’ve challenged him on, in terms of executing his role and his running patterns,” he said.
“He has worked on that this week at training and we look forward to seeing him go out there this weekend and play an important role for the team.
“He’s been playing some solid football… even when he came on [last week], some of his ball use was really strong. We’re looking for that as well as some strong running patterns and being good in the contests.”
