It was great to see all our fans again at the WACA for our final training run. The WACA is only a short walk from the team hotel, meaning each player could make their way to the ground to prepare for the session in their own time.

After signing a few autographs I made my way in to the rooms where I bumped into a few of the members of the Inner Blue coterie group. The coterie group makes one interstate trip a year and have come over for the game against the Eagles.

The group had just been addressed by Ratts and they stuck around to watch training, before going out to dinner with a number of Club officials.

The WACA was in terrific condition and although the game is at Subiaco it’s great to train just around the corner from the hotel.

The final session before a game is always a quick session, a 15 minute warm up followed by 10 minutes of quick sharp skills. Following training we had a team meeting, before walking back to the hotel for a brief pool session and dinner.

The two hour time difference really kicks in on a Friday night. During dinner we were getting a few score updates from the game back in Melbourne. The game had actually finished by the time it started on TV over here.

I watched a bit of the game and also kept updated on the cricket and cycling before heading to bed.

Gameday.  After a good night’s sleep, I got up and had breaky downstairs. I had a quick read of the paper and made my way back to my room before joining the rest of the team downstairs for a walk and stretch.

Lunch was relatively early, allowing us to get a meal in before we started preparing for the game.

As the game is a 5.40pm start in Perth, I am about to start getting strapped and will shortly have our final midfield meeting.

We will leave the hotel at around 3.30pm and head to the ground.

Well let’s hope it a good one for the Blues!
