CARLTON members and supporters have received a great balance of afternoon timeslots and prime time games, in a 2025 AFL fixture that provides something for all who wear Navy Blue.

As the first 15 rounds of the 2025 fixture were announced by the AFL on Thursday, three afternoon slots and three evening slots in the Club’s first six Victorian home games will provide Bluebaggers of all ages with ample opportunity to watch their beloved Blues.

Next year will mark the first time since 2016 Carlton will face both its old rivals Collingwood and Essendon twice in a season, including the now-traditional Sunday night King’s Birthday Eve clash with the Bombers as a Blues home game.

An early season match-up with the Magpies during school holidays caps off a blockbuster opening month that will see the Blues feature in a big way, with three of the first four games on a Thursday night, starting with the annual Victorian season opener against Richmond at the MCG.

Back-to-back home games against the Hawks and Dogs follow, again under lights, which will see the Navy Blue army out in full strength.

Seven of Carlton’s first 15 games of the season will feature on a Thursday or Friday night, with five of these being away games.

Of the Club’s first seven away games, five will be shown free-to-air on Channel 7 in Victoria, while four games in total will be set for Fox Footy’s newly revamped Super Saturday.

Next year also sees the Blues play 11 of 23 games at the MCG, with six of these being home games all against Victorian opposition.

After two sold-out clashes in the important timeslot, Carlton will once again co-host the Good Friday SuperClash with North Melbourne in Round 6.

Across 2023 and 2024, the two clubs have raised more than $500,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital, with the Blues playing group auctioning off personal items to contribute over $10,000 to this year’s total.

The Blues will once again take on a West Australian opposition in Gather Round, hosting the Eagles at the Adelaide Oval —but it won’t be the only chance for South Australian Bluebaggers to see their team in action.

For the first time ever, the Blues will play three games in South Australia in the one season, returning to Adelaide Oval two more times against the Crows (Round 8) and the Power (Round 16).

Like last season, Carlton will travel a total of six times in the 2025 season, heading west twice to take on West Coast for a second time (Round 14) as well as Fremantle (Round 21).

Also for the first time Carlton will play both New South Wales-based teams during Sir Doug Nicholls Round, starting with the very special Marn Grook game against Sydney at the SCG in Round 10 before hosting GWS at Marvel Stadium in Round 11.

The Blues will face six opponents twice in 2025 – Collingwood, Essendon, Port Adelaide, Hawthorn, West Coast and North Melbourne.

Bluebaggers were out in force in 2024, showing their unwavering support for the team and packing out stadiums, with the Club ranking first in average home crowd attendance at the Club’s AFL home venues in Marvel Stadium and the MCG.

With over 67,000 members already signed up for 2025 (nearly 7,500 more than this time last year), members are showing their loyalty early, especially off the back of a record-breaking membership year, with the Club reaching over 100,000 members for the first time in its 160-year history.

CEO Brian Cook said today’s announcement will be very pleasing for Blues fans, with a variety of games for everyone.

“We know how passionate our members and supporters are, and today’s announcement is a reflection of that passion, given we will be able to give our diverse and significant supporter base as many opportunities as possible to be right there with their team in 2025,” Cook said.

“We are fortunate to have such dedicated fans who create an unrivalled atmosphere, showcased by our average home game attendance of over 58,000 in 2024, leading the league in home crowd attendance at both of our AFL home venues in Marvel Stadium and the MCG.

“To be able to reward our fans with a variety of time slots and many prime-time games is fantastic, and we thank the AFL for providing us with that opportunity, given all they have to consider when piecing together such a challenging fixture for the entire competition.

“Our people are our Club and we don’t take that for granted. In 2025, we cannot wait to see those stands packed out in Navy Blue again as together we set our sights on an exciting year ahead.”
