“We are extremely angry that comments made by Laurence have been used in today’s article and that such comments attempt to discredit the Carlton Football Club and in particular players at our Club over the last three years. Laurence Angwin’s AFL career was terminated by the Carlton Football Club after his repeated acts of misconduct, including testing positive for using illicit drugs, during his brief time at the Club. On several occasions since he has made comments that are damaging to the Club and our players. His allegations regarding illegal behaviour have previously been refuted and once again the Club totally refutes the comments in today’s article. It is disappointing that such comments are made and even more so that comments made by a person who has brought the Club and himself into disrepute, are given any credibility by the media,” said Carlton CEO, Michael Malouf.
