COACH Denis Pagan says Brendan Fevola has an uncanny capacity to both frustrate and delight.
Thankfully for the Blues on Saturday night, the ace spearhead was doing more of the latter as his eight-goal star turn help his side score a stunning comeback victory over the Roos to earn a place in NAB Cup Grand Final.
But Pagan admitted to mixed emotions even during Fab Fev's latest goalfest.
"He frustrated us a few times, I can tell you," he said, "but you look at the goal sheet and he's kicked eight.
"He was sensational. When he's on the ground he really straightens up and gives us a target to go to.
"He really got us back into it."
Pagan said reaching the pre-season finale had been the ideal preparation physically for his young players but he was not sure if it would leave them mentally drained.
"I think it's the best preparation physically, I'm not so sure it is mentally," he said.
"We'll find out about that and how young minds handle that sort of stuff.
"Some people say it's a poisoned chalice but at the moment we'll take it."
