With the countdown to the opening round almost upon us, CFC TV was granted an exclusive look at how Kane Lucas prepared for the Club’s intra-club practice match last week.

Diligent in his preparation, Kane was one of the first to arrive at Visy Park around 7:30am, fuelling up in the Café before attending a meeting with the rest of his teammates.

Next up was a quick stop in the treatment room for strapping and tapping, before joining the rest of the players as they went through their pre-match warm-up. The exclusive vision includes Lucas in a pre-match discussion with senior coach Brett Ratten and half-time discussions with Assistant Coach John Barker and teammate Heath Scotland as well as vision from the intra-club match at Visy Park.

Light rain during the first half made for tricky conditions, however Kane said on the whole the group was pleased with the hit-out.

“It was great to have a run around and test ourselves to see where we are at with our skills and fitness,” he said.

“It is hard to believe our pre-season started back in October, so we are all pretty pumped for the season to begin and put into place everything we have been working on for the past five months.”

Carlton opens its NAB Cup campaign against Adelaide and the Power at AAMI Stadium this Sunday, February 26. The matches will be broadcast live on Fox Footy, commencing with the Carlton v Port Adelaide game at 3:00pm (EDT) followed by the Carlton v Adelaide game.
