Carrazzo accepts ban
Carlton's Andrew Carrazzo has accepted a one-match ban from the Match Review Panel
CARLTON'S Andrew Carrazzo will miss this week's clash with the Brisbane Lions in Maroochydore after he accepted a week's suspension for two separate incidents in Sunday's loss to the Western Bulldogs.
The Match Review Panel charged Carrazzo with level two striking offences against Bulldogs Patrick Veszpremi and Shaun Higgins. Each charge earned him 70.31 points thanks to his five-year good record.
One such penalty would have meant a reprimand for the Blues' midfielder, but the two charges totalled 140.62 points and a week's suspension, which can be served in the NAB Cup.
The strike on Veszpremi was assessed as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact, earning five activation points.
The Higgins incident was assessed as reckless conduct, low impact and high contact, also earning five activation points.
Carrazzo was the only player charged from the weekend's NAB Cup round.
The match review panel also assessed incidents involving West Coast's Jacob Brennan, Gold Coast's Steven May and Richmond's Tom Derickx but decided none of the three were reportable.
