CARLTON forward Jack Silvagni is set to miss Saturday’s Round 8 clash with North Melbourne.
Silvagni made his return to football on Sunday in a reserves match against St Kilda, after a stint on the sideline following a fractured rib sustained in the Round 4 AFL win.
Despite recovering from his original injury, Director of High Performance Andrew Russell expects the versatile Blue to miss at least this week after irritating his ITB against St Kilda.
“Jack Silvagni irritated his ITB as it’s known,” Russell said.
“We probably won’t play him this week: he’ll probably miss one or two games. We’ll build him back up to play again.”
Zac Fisher and Paddy Dow completed the weekend’s scratch match without issue, with both making steady progress in their returns from injury.
Hitting his stride again following a syndesmosis injury sustained in Round 1, Fisher will be available for selection for the weekend’s senior clash.
“’Fish’ played his second game and he got through pretty well: he’ll be close,” he said.
“He’s available for selection at AFL level if ‘Teaguey’ and the selection committee think he’s ready.”
Dow remains a few weeks off a return to senior football following a knee injury, with more game time required ahead of being back in AFL action.
He admits there were times where he didn't think he'd get there.

But, this Saturday, boyhood Bluebagger @DochertySam will lead out Carlton as co-captain in his 100th AFL game. You love to see it.#OwnTheFuture
“’Dowy’ played his first game and played pretty well. He hasn’t played for a while,” he said.
“I’d suggest he probably needs a couple of scratch matches to be ready at AFL level but who knows. He’s ready and available if ‘Teaguey’ and the boys think they want to play him.”
