Scans have confirmed that Carlton forward Jack Silvagni suffered a bruised lung and fractured rib during Saturday night’s win over Essendon.
Silvagni left the field in the second minute of the game and did not return after receiving a hit to his midsection.
He was sent to hospital where he stayed overnight and underwent scans, which confirmed the extent of the injury.
At this stage the 22-year-old is expected to be sidelined for at least one week.
