CARLTON has finalised its VFL side for when the Carlton Reserves take on Geelong at IKON Park this morning.

Kicking off this morning ahead of the AFL clash between the two sides later today, the Blues have confirmed two changes to the team which narrowly went down to North Melbourne last weekend.

Lachie Cowan will make his return via the VFL, having missed the last two games due to a hamstring injury sustained in the Round 4 AFL clash with Collingwood.

Joining him in the side is fellow AFL emergency Sam Docherty, who was the carryover player last weekend against the Roos.

Previously named in the VFL side on Friday, Lewis Young won’t feature due to AFL emergency commitments.

The prolific Will Hayes won’t feature against the Cats, while tall defender Denver Grainger-Barras has been omitted.

VFL-listed midfielder Archie Stevens could come up against brother (and AFL emergency) George after two prior meetings in 2024, while the Blues will have to turn to some of their experienced heads like Docherty, Marc Pittonet and Jordan Boyd against a 3-1 Geelong side that includes the likes of Mitch Duncan, the in-form Nathan Kreuger and returning Jake Kolodjashnij.

The game kicks off from 11:05am and will be streamed on the AFL website.
