Carlton has turned its attention towards its final home and away match of the season against Port Adelaide this weekend.
In the wake of Saturday night’s six-point loss to Essendon, the Blues completed a routine recovery session on Monday, before holding a short touch session Tuesday morning.
Development coach Matthew Capuano says the low-key 30-minute session is a normal part of Carlton’s midweek preparations, with the focus this week being on reversing the Blues’ poor conversion rate in front of goal.
“This session is really just a lead up to our main session (held on Wednesday) where the focus is really on getting as much touch as possible with the footy,” Capuano said.
“We’re also doing a bit of goal kicking and continuing to work on that, after obviously not having a good result on the weekend in that area.”
In some positive news for the ninth-placed Blues, late withdrawals Matthew Kreuzer (knee) and Andrew Walker (gastro) both participated in the session and look set to return against the Power on Saturday.
Chris Judd also took part in his first session without the restriction of a brace, as he recovers from his knee injury.
