The Northern Blues will continue their fight for a spot in the finals, when they take on Werribee at Visy Park on Sunday.

Coach Luke Webster says both sides are vying for the same position on the ladder.

“It’ll be a really big test for us,” Webster said. “They had a really good win against Port Melbourne on the weekend.”

“But it’s a great opportunity for us to take on another really good quality team, and see where our group is at.”

The Blues VFL side returned to the winners list in Round 17, defeating Sandringham by 18-points.

The match marked the return from injury of David Ellard and Andrew Collins, who were among the side’s best.

“Davey played through the midfield and forward, and did some really good stuff around the stoppages,” Webster said.

“Andrew Collins, when we were starting to get a little bit going, he was the one who got us going up forward and kicked three goals.”

The Northern Blues coach also praised the efforts of Levi Casboult, Mitch Robinson and Kane Lucas, Webster describing their attitudes as "terrific".
