The Carlton Football Club is proud to support The Jodi Lee Foundation, and its #iknowsome1 campaign.
The Jodi Lee Foundation raises awareness of just how common bowel cancer is, and highlights the importance of regular screening.
An estimated 17,000 Australians will be diagnosed with bowel cancer this year alone – the equivalent of one third of Etihad Stadium at capacity.
It’s Australia’s second leading cause of cancer-related death, but 90% of cases could be cured if detected early.
Nick Lee established The Jodi Lee Foundation, after losing his wife to bowel cancer at the age of 41.
He says bowel cancer is more common than people realise.
“This campaign will help to build greater awareness of bowel cancer and the importance of early detection.
“People can protect themselves, by regularly using a simple at-home bowel screening test.”
The #iknowsome1 campaign is being launched at Saturday’s round 20 clash with the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium.
The campaign is inviting fans to join the likes of Carlton great Andrew McKay and Carlton Captain Marc Murphy, in sharing their connections with bowel cancer.
