Carlton's Andrejs Everitt has praised his team for their determined effort in Sunday's 85-point win over St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.

The Blues won 24.7 (151) to the Saints 10.6 (65).

Everitt said the emphatic victory is a huge relief after a recent string of losses.

"It was a good win by the fellas,” Everitt said.

"We've done it tough the last few weeks. It's very good to have a good win and a convincing win as well."

Everitt, who notched up a career-high 23 disposals and kicked two majors in the Round 16 clash, said he enjoyed spending the second half on St Kilda's Leigh Montagna.

"I was sort-of playing that loose-behind-the-ball at some stages during the first quarter," Everitt said.

"I got on the end of a few which was nice, and then once Carrots (Andrew Carrazzo) went down with a little bit of a knock, I had to go onto Montagna and try to shut him down.

"I don't mind those little change-ups within games – it keeps my mind busy that's for sure."

The match saw Carlton’s forward line shine, with Levi Casboult, Lachie Henderson and backman-turned-forward Simon White each bagging four goals.

Everitt said his team used their running capabilities to their advantage, and managed to get the ball into their forward line more efficiently than in recent weeks.

"We think that we are pretty fit and pretty quick,” Everitt said.

"If we can get it (the ball) to outside runners like Yaz (Chris Yarran), (Sam) Docherty and Ed Curnow, we're going to give our forwards more of a chance to take those big grabs like Levi (Casboult) and Hendo (Lachie Henderson) did today."
