The Carlton Football Club’s longest-serving captain Stephen Kernahan has tonight been announced as the Club’s latest Joint No.1 ticket holder for 2025.

Thirty years on from the Club’s 1995 premiership victory, in which Kernahan led one of the most dominant sides in Carlton history, the Blues will celebrate and honour his extraordinary legacy.

Both throughout his time in the Navy Blue and still to this day, Kernahan embodies what it means to be a Carlton person: a truly inspiring leader and team-first player who has always lived the Club’s values on and off the field.

Speaking at the Spirit of Carlton Hall of Fame event, Carlton President Rob Priestley praised Kernahan’s commitment and character.

"There are few better examples of what we stand for as a club,” Priestley said.

“Off the field over many years now, ‘Sticks’ has made, and continues to make, an incredible contribution to our Club. On the field, a seven-time All Australian, three-time Best and Fairest winner, 11 consecutive years as Carlton’s leading goalkicker, two-time premiership captain, and centre half-forward in our Team of the Century.

“I have no doubt you will also lead the celebration of our 1995 premiership with great energy and enthusiasm this year.

“I also want to acknowledge and thank outgoing No.1 ticket holder Dylan Alcott for serving his term and representing the old dark Navy Blue with pride during that time.”

Kernahan joins current No. 1 ticket holder Leisel Jones as the Club’s Joint No.1 ticket holders for 2025.
