A TRIO of Blues have received votes in the 2020 AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award for Round 1.
Safe to say, there were no surprises.
Jack Martin capped off a thrilling Navy Blue debut receiving five votes for his four goals, 17-disposal game.
Almost a permanent fixture on the list, co-captain Patrick Cripps also received five votes for his Round 1 performance.
Cripps went to work in the second half, helping spur on the team’s comeback and finishing the night with a game-high 31 disposals, 17 contested possessions and 10 clearances.
Jacob Weitering’s shutdown performance on Tom Lynch also did not go unnoticed, with the defender collecting three votes.
Under the blanket coverage of Weitering, Lynch didn’t take a mark for the first time since 2014 while also being held goalless.
