THE Carlton Football Club supports the AFL’s decision to proceed with the opening round of the AFL Premiership Season and to move straight into finals of the AFLW season.
Carlton CEO Cain Liddle said the health and safety of everyone involved remains the Club’s priority.
“Our number one priority has, and continues to be, the health and safety of our people and the wider community.
“While the Carlton faithful unfortunately will be unable to attend our games and their absence will be notably felt, we’ll be doing everything we can to make sure our members remain connected with our club; there’s no doubt we’re going to miss them as much as they’re going to miss us.
“Despite a period of uncertainty, our players are ready to go and are excited to kick off the AFL season opener against Richmond tomorrow night at the MCG and play off in an AFLW final this weekend at a time and location to be confirmed”.
“To all the nurses, doctors, teachers and all other members of the community who are leading the way through these unprecedented times, we say thank you. You are an inspiration to us all and we appreciate everything you are doing for us.
