The Carlton Multicultural Program, supported by the Pratt Foundation, has entered its third year at the Carlton Football Club - and to kick off 2011, Multicultural Ambassadors Setanta O’hAilpin and Peter Labi put Carlton Primary School kids through their paces at a recent clinic.

The two ambassadors of course hail from very diverse backgrounds. Setanta boasts Irish, Fijian and Samoan descent, whilst Peter - now in his second year as Carlton’s international scholarship player - cites the Papuan locale of Lae as his home.

The 6-week program has been specifically designed to afford newly-arrived migrants and refugees the opportunity to participate in Australian football. The program’s key themes  include Leadership, Team Work, Fair Play, Respect and Harmony. Incorporated into the program are visitations to the National Sports Museum, a tour of the MCG, a matchday visit and grid game opportunities.

If your school is interested in participating in the Multicultural Program please email carltoncommunity@carltonfc.com.au for further information.
