Carlton launches the Blue Zone
The Carlton players have turned out in force on the famous Lygon Street retail strip as the Club launched Blue Zone.
Blue Zone, a campaign to further the connection between the Carlton Football Club and local communities, is aimed to highlight the Club’s ongoing work with its citizens.
All members of Carlton’s senior group converged on Lygon Street to meet with the retailers and supporters as part of the Blue Zone launch.

Appropriately it was Andrew Carrazzo who addressed members of the media at the launch. Andrew boasts strong links with the local area and Lygon Street through his childhood days in Carlton.
“It is great to be here with all the players in Lygon Street, in the very heart of Carlton, a place where many of us visit each week. The Carlton Football Club and Lygon Street are Melbourne icons, both in the City of Melbourne, a perfect place to launch Blue Zone,” Andrew said.
“Blue Zone is a campaign that will further the connection between Carlton and the local communities and help promote the work the Club is doing in the community.
“It is perfect that Lygon Street is the first Blue Zone area.”
Chris Judd meets the fans.
The Carlton players spent an hour strolling the famous Lygon Street promenade, in what doubled as a “meet and greet” with local retailers, their customers and all Carlton supporters.
The event also served as a promotion for Carlton’s 2012 Membership campaign with a number of supporters signing up for the new season. The Blues currently boast 29,000 members - an increase of 20 per cent on the corresponding period last year
