The Carlton Football Club, in conjunction with the AFL, invited Our Lady’s Help Christians Primary School and Brunswick South West Primary School, Antonine College and Meadow Heights Primary School to Visy Park on Monday morning for the inaugural Multicultural Cup.

The event was a final component to the 6 week Multicultural Program running at the club. The program uses Australian football to further engage and integrate newly arrived migrants and refugees in to the community.

The round robin event hosted 8 teams from 4 schools (girls and boys) all playing for a spot in the state finals.

In the end, Brunswick South West Primary School and Meadow Heights Primary School were the respective winners of the boys and girls division.

Brunswick South West Primary School boys and Meadow Heights Primary School girls will now play in the state finals, competing against other schools from Collingwood, Western Bulldogs, Richmond  Hawthorn’s and Essendon’s Multicultural Programs.
