Carlton and DSV working together
As part of the newly formed community partnership, Carlton is this week hosting a Match Day for Down Syndrome Victoria at Etihad Stadium.
Carlton has worked closely with Down Syndrome Victoria throughout the 2012 season by spreading their key messages about social inclusion.
Earlier this year, Tallarook Primary were the winners of Down Syndrome Victoria’s annual T4321 event, a morning tea fundraiser. They were the school to raise the most money for DSV and, as a result, were treated to a football clinic at Visy Park conducted by Jeremy Laidler and Simon White.

Carlton has assisted with Down Syndrome Victoria’s fundraising by donating two signed guernseys to their upcoming Race Day function at the Moonee Valley Racing Club on August 25 and also by auctioning the round 17 junior mascot experience. All proceeds went directly to DSV.
Recently, Bryce Gibbs and Matthew Kreuzer gave up their time to be involved in a video which will be aired throughout promotions in the lead up to Saturday night’s game. Click above to view the finished product.
Down Syndrome Victoria's members are excited to be participating in this week’s game day activities. "We are thrilled to partner with Carlton and greatly appreciate their efforts on our behalf. Funds raised from this Match Day will assist Down Syndrome Victoria in its work to provide information, support and advocacy for people with Down syndrome and their families," said Kimberly Williamson, Fundraising & Events Manager for Down Syndrome Victoria.
Members and families from Down Syndrome Victoria will be tin shaking around the stadium concourse prior to this week’s clash against Brisbane and will also take part in the pre match guard of honour. They will also be given tickets to stay and enjoy the game.
The Carlton Football Club is also looking forward to being involved in this year’s Buddy Walk which is an international walkathon-style event, held at Visy Park on October 14. It aims to raise funds for and awareness of Down syndrome.
