CHARLIE Curnow says the Blues are ready to take it to Brisbane in Saturday's clash at The Gabba.
The 194cm spearhead, who kicked a match-high four majors in the Blues’ 21-point loss to Port Adelaide last Saturday, caught up with Carlton Media about the game, the return of on-field leaders, the upcoming clash against the Lions, his five-year commitment to the Club and more.
On the defeat to Port Adelaide:
“It was a pretty tough game in the end. Obviously, it was 'Simmo's' (Kade Simpson) 300th and the boys came to a close loss once again.
“It was a good effort by the boys, and we’re really pleased with the efforts and the signs that we’re showing at the moment but we’re still looking for the win as the main goal.
“We still have a lot of areas that we can improve on and take from the game. All the boys have been working pretty hard through the week to try to make sure their improvement areas are right for the game.”

On his form:
“I was pretty happy with the game last weekend. There are a few good players around me at the moment in the forward line so it’s easy to play well with them helping me out. I got handed a few easy goals.
“The boys are playing really well and we’re almost getting the result.
“The leaders coming back in, like ‘Murph’ (Marc Murphy) last week, helps a lot. The boys are pretty excited for this week coming up against Brisbane. We will give it a red-hot crack and get out there and hopefully get the win.”
On Marc Murphy’s re-signing:
“I was stoked to see that Murph resigned for another two years. He said he is going to be a Blue for the rest of his life now.
“For us younger guys in the first three years, we are really excited about him wanting to stay at the Club and putting his passion in front of him. All of us are learning from him.”
On his commitment to Carlton until 2023:
“It was a pretty easy decision for me. When I came to the Club in the early days, I had my brother here. It was an easy one. My family is really invested in the Club. I’ve got too many good relationships at the Club to let it go, so I’m really looking forward to the future.”
