NORTHERN Blues coach Josh Fraser assesses all Carlton-listed players who featured in the three-point loss to North Melbourne on Sunday:

Tom De Koning
Stats: 3 disposals, 7 hitouts
From the coach: Tom spent his time between ruck and forward, and he continues to show good signs as a developing tall. He’s starting to use his athletic ability around the ground to get away from his opponent.

Jesse Glass-McCasker
Stats:
6 disposals
From the coach: There were some positive signs from Jesse in his ability to defend his man. From a defensive point of view, he took a step forward in the first half. The next step which we’ll continue working on is being consistent over four quarters.

Patrick Kerr
Stats:
 7 disposals, 6 marks, 1 goal
From the coach: I really liked his game and have been pleased with the signs over the past three or four weeks. His leading patterns have improved and he’s covering ground with purpose, giving us a good target in the forward half. He could have finished the day with three or four.

Sam Kerridge
Stats: 22 disposals, 7 clearances, 5 tackles
From the coach: We were really pleased with his output: he played his role on the wing the way we required and wanted. He showed good leadership with setting up younger players and he had some good moments in the contested ball aspect.

Jed Lamb
Stats: 18 disposals, 8 inside 50s, 3 goals
From the coach: Jed started really well with great energy from first bounce, and showed class with his marking and finishing in difficult conditions. We split his time between forward and wing and he had an impact.

Kym Lebois
Stats: 6 disposals, 5 tackles, 3 goals
From the coach: In his last fortnight, he’s strung two great performances together. We really liked the pressure side of his game which was outstanding, while he finished with three. He’s playing with great energy and building off the back of that.

Harry McKay
Stats: 7 disposals, 4 marks, 2 goals
From the coach: I like what Harry showed on the weekend. His aerial work has been a real strength in recent weeks and he’s improving at ground level. He covered the ground as well he has in the past few weeks.

Harrison Macreadie
Stats: 5 disposals
From the coach: Along with all of our defenders, he defended quite well. We’re working on his aggression as a developing defender, which he’s making steps with each week. His defensive game was solid.

Andrew Phillips
Stats: 19 disposals, 38 hitouts, 7 tackles, 5 inside 50s
From the coach: He was terrific - he really dominated the ruck duel against Brayden Preuss and followed up at ground level while taking a few really strong marks around the ground. It was his best game, which he’s been building to with his work in recent weeks.

Cameron Polson
Stats: 14 disposals, 8 tackles, 4 clearances, 2 goals
From the coach: His tackling pressure was fantastic for us. We split his time between forward and midfield, and he gave us a presence and intensity around the contest through his tackling pressure. He had an impact.

Sam Rowe
Stats: 14 disposals, 5 marks, 3 rebound 50s
From the coach: He was great — he showed terrific leadership on the day to organise younger players and his ability to position and impact was fantastic. Along with Andrew Phillips, he was one of our best performers on the day.

Angus Schumacher
Stats: 19 disposals, 8 rebound 50s
From the coach: I quite liked his game. I think as a young defender, he found a better balance between offence and defence this week. He found a bit of the ball and defended his man at the right time. He’s building his game in the right way.

Matthew Shaw
Stats: 18 disposals, 8 marks, 3 rebound 50s
From the coach: His game was pleasing as well, the majority of which was off half-back. He gave us some run and made good decisions with the ball, while his skill level was clean. We were really pleased with his output.
