CARLTON has acquired pick No.42 in this year’s national draft after completing a trade with Geelong.
The Blues’ first trade of the 2018 NAB AFL Trade Period now sees Carlton hold a draft hand of picks Nos.1, 24, 26, 42, 65 and 73.
In exchange, Carlton has offloaded SANFL forward Nathan Kreuger, a pre-listed state league player.
The Blues had first access to Kreuger as part of the arrangement with the AFL, which saw Carlton granted the ability to pre-list two players who have previously nominated for the draft.
Geelong on-traded the No.42 pick after previously receiving it from the Brisbane Lions in a deal for Lincoln McCarthy.
The trade period opened this morning, and will close on Wednesday, 17 October at 8:30pm.
