HE’S in.
Alex Johnson’s first game back will be in familiar colours, when he runs out in the red guernsey this Sunday.
Despite being named on an extended bench in last night’s squad, Johnson has been confirmed to make his VFL debut in Round 10. His story is a familiar one to all those who follow the game.
The opening game at Preston City Oval this year will be Johnson’s first since August 12 in 2018.
In the opening half of the season, Johnson has combined his rehabilitation from injury with a development coaching role, acting as the bench coach under senior coach Josh Fraser.
After 47 games for Sydney including the 2012 Premiership, Johnson will play his first game on a day when Northern honours its past.

Johnson will be joined by Tom De Koning on return, with the exciting tall to play his first VFL game for the season after a knee injury.
Sunday marks the Club’s heritage round, wearing the Bullant for the first time in eight years. The game begins from 1pm on Sunday.
