LOCK it in!
The double-header will return in 2019, with the Northern Blues to play three curtain raisers prior to Carlton games this season.
As confirmed by AFL Victoria today, Northern’s Round 8, 18 and 19 games will take place immediately before Carlton matches in great news for Blues fans.
The St Kilda v Carlton game on Sunday 26 May will be preceded by Northern taking on Sandringham — the teams’ two VFL affiliates.

Northern will then host Collingwood in Round 18 at Marvel Stadium, before Carlton hosts reigning premiers West Coast later that afternoon.
Arguably the pick of the bunch will come the next weekend, with the Tigers and Blues to take over the MCG. The VFL match begin between Richmond and Northern will begin at 11:50am, before Richmond and Carlton kicks off at 3:20pm.

All matches will also feature live on Channel 7, providing “wall-to-wall football across the day” according to AFL Head of Talent Pathways & State League Competitions, Tristan Salter.
It will be the first time Northern has played a curtain raiser for VFL points since 2015. They played a one-off game against the AFL Academy in 2017.
