Carlton has today launched a membership marathon with the Blues aiming to get 5000 new members on board in five weeks.
Coach Mick Malthouse was joined by Australian Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou at Visy Park today, where they kicked off “5 in 5”.
Malthouse congratulated Postecoglou on his recent Asian Cup victory and presented the Socceroos coach with a 2015 CFC membership.
“There shouldn’t be one person in Australia who is not proud of what you did, I know we are as a football club, and I know personally I couldn’t take my eyes off the TV watching you,” Malthouse said.
In accepting his membership Postecoglou admitted to being a “rusted on Bluebagger” and said he’s looking forward to a big year from Carlton.
“When you support a football club, any football club, you stick with them through thick and thin,” he said.
“I think there’s a good vibe around the place and it looks like there’s some young blokes being thrown in, which is always good and I find that pretty appealing – it’s something I tend to do.”
Carlton is enlisting the support of members to recruit Bluebaggers over the next five weeks.
