THE Carlton Football Club is excited to announce Cooper Lord will make his debut for the Club this Sunday against West Coast.
Selected with pick No.9 in the 2024 AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft back in May, Lord has been a standout from the moment he pulled on the Navy Blue in the VFL.
Averaging almost 26 disposals, seven tackles and over four clearances across his seven games since arriving at IKON Park, Lord produced his most eye-catching performance on the weekend against Geelong, amassing 30 disposals, nine tackles and six clearances in a 23-point win over Geelong.
Clean with the ball at ground level and good defensively, Lord played for the Sandringham Dragons last year, collecting the most disposals of any Dragon in the premiership win – coincidentally, at IKON Park.
After his stint with the Dragons as well as Vic Metro in 2023, Lord impressed for both North Melbourne’s VFL and the Young Guns prior to the mid-season draft, finding a home at the Blues where he has earned an AFL debut less than three months later.
Wearing the No.36 guernsey, he joins esteemed company alongside former captain Mark Maclure and current Carlton assistant coach Aaron Hamill.
