Team gets behind Murphy
The entire Carlton team wore blue armbands for the final training session for 2012 in a show of support for Marc Murphy and the Blue September campaign.
Murphy is an ambassador for the Blue September campaign and his team-mates and coaches wanted to show their support by wearing the light blue armbands for this final session. Adding to the support for Blue September, the squad also wore the light blue guernsey which are the similar colour to the Blue September campaign blue.
Murphy has raised almost $14,000 for Blue September the campaign to raise awareness and funds for men’s health. His goal is to raise $15,000 by Sunday September 2nd, Father’s Day.

“Blue September is a great campaign helping to raise funds for research into men’s cancer. With one in two guys being affected by cancer, we’re losing too many dads, Grand dads and mates to this disease. It makes sense to think about this around Father’s Day and it is great the players, coaches and the club are supporting the campaign,” Murphy said at training at Visy Park.
“I hope supporters also get behind me in my goal to raise over $15,000 by tomorrow.”
