CARLTON’S good luck charm?
Dylan Marguccio made a visit to IKON Park on Friday, and a pact with Michael Voss ended in joy for both Marguccio and his beloved Blues.
It was through the TLC For Kids charity that Marguccio - who lives with Duchene Muscular Dystrophy - had the chance to meet his Carlton heroes, including Patrick Cripps, Charlie Curnow, milestone man Harry McKay and favourite player Sam Walsh.
During his visit to Royal Parade, Marguccio struck up a relationship with Carlton’s AFL Senior Coach, who made his new mate a promise. Rev the boys up for Sunday, and the coach will make sure they see it.
A 59-point win resulted, with Voss staying true to his word.
The full transcript of Marguccio’s speech is below: you can watch the full reaction in the player below.
“I’ve been supporting this famous club since I was born. I’ve never seen a final, never seen a Grand Final. But I’ve never given up on the mighty Blues.
You guys can get through this. You are a good team. You just have to believe in yourselves.
Come on, boys. You’re such an inspiration to me, always the highlight of my week. I’m so proud to be a Blues supporter.
So get around each other. Cherish every moment that you get together.
This season is not over. Just believe.
Come on ‘Baggers, let’s finish this season with a bang!”
