CARLTON President Luke Sayers is looking forward to the inaugural ‘Gather Round’ taking place in Round 5.

With the Blues taking on the Crows first up on Thursday night at a sold out Adelaide Oval, the atmosphere is sure to be electric.

A sea of Navy Blue will descend upon the City of Churches when Carlton kick off proceedings in the opening game of the inaugural Gather Round.

In a now sold-out game against the Crows at Adelaide Oval, Sayers shared his excitement at experiencing the electric atmosphere that has become synonymous with Carlton games.

“The guys at the Club said today that we’re going to have some 3000 Carlton members come across for the four days,” Sayers said.

“We’re rapt to be able to play on Thursday night against Adelaide - we think it’s already sold out - and it’s going to be a great atmosphere, then most people will stay through the weekend.”

Before the game will be the second-annual Carlton In Business lunch, which will see over 160 companies come together to discuss business opportunities, strategies and of course – the Carlton Football Club.

Boasting a two-course banquet and networking opportunities with the Carlton Football Club, CIB Partners, CIB Members and Adelaide Blues VIP Members, it is sure to be an epic event to remember.

“We’re doing our second year of the Carlton In Business lunch in Adelaide on Thursday 13 April and it brings together nationally about 160 companies,” he said.

“It’s the biggest business networking forum from the sporting landscape here in Australia.”

The lineup is stacked for the luncheon - taking place at the Sky City Ballroom - with guests such as Stephen Kernahan, Aaron Hamill and Tammy Barton (director for MyBudget) to speak at the event.

“It’s just a good event to get all Bluebaggers and all business people along to build some new relationships and hopefully do some business together.”

Senior Coach Michael Voss will make the trip to Adelaide for just the second time since joining the Blues.

However, it will be familiar territory for Voss who spent seven years as an assistant coach for Port Adelaide.

Sayers spoke glowingly about Voss, sharing he has been nothing but impressed with the skills, composure and attitude the senior coach had brought since joining the team - noting the appointment couldn't have suited the Blues' culture any better.

"'Vossy' is a terrific human: he has great values, feet on the ground, oozes credibility and is all about the contest and working hard so we love what he’s doing with our players," he said.

"He also fits in culturally really well for the whole Club and organisation."
