No Waite & minimum of 3 changes
Carlton Coach Brett Ratten has confirmed that Jarrad Waite will miss again this week with a back injury.
Waite was withdrawn from last week’s squad and is set to miss this Sunday’s match against Melbourne at the MCG as he strives to overcome the back injury and is hopeful to be available for the round 10 match against Port Adelaide on Saturday week.
Ratten also confirmed that Nick Duigan will miss this week’s game with an injury, joining Marc Murphy on the sidelines with Murphy set to be out of action for between 6 and 10 weeks with a shoulder injury.
The match committee will need to find replacements for more than Murphy and Duigan with more changes anticipated as the Blues look to rebound from consecutive defeats.
Ratten admitted there would be a number of changes to last week’s side that was comprehensively beaten by Adelaide.
“There will be a number of changes, some because of injury and others will be omitted,” he said during his media conference at Visy Park today.
The 25-man Carlton squad for Sunday’s game against Melbourne will be released on the Carlton website at 6.25pm, together with a team selection video by GM Football Operations, Andrew McKay on CFCTV.
