The team is in for Round 1 of the second AFLW season for the year, with debuts and a milestone in store for the Thursday night clash with the Magpies.

Three players will pull on the Navy Blue in their opening games for the Club, with draftee Mia Austin to get her first taste at AFLW level and Amelia Velardo and Phoebe McWilliams to wear their new colours for the first time in the season proper.

Velardo will be out to impress against her former side, while McWilliams will play a key role in combining up forward with co-vice captain Darcy Vescio, who will play their 50th AFLW match.

Captain Kerryn Peterson will lead her side, with newly appointed co-vice captain Jess Dal Pos named in the middle.

After a breakout debut season, Paige Trudgeon will return to the backline alongside Peterson and seasoned campaigner Mua Laloifi, while young guns Keeley Sherar, Brooke Vickers and Maddy Guerin will also be looking to build on solid performances in season six.

After training fully on Monday, Lucy McEvoy has been named in the line-up following her pre-season shoulder injury: she will need to pass a final fitness test before game day.
