CARLTON AFLW midfielder Lucy McEvoy has extended her contract with the Game Changers until the end of the 2023 season.
Selected with Carlton’s first round pick in the 2019 NAB AFLW Draft (Pick 2), McEvoy impressed instantly and has made steady progress solidifying her spot in the midfield over the past three seasons.
The 21-year-old is a beacon of positivity around the Club and can be found making an impact across all areas of the ground.
McEvoy says it is an exciting time to be a part of the Carlton Football Club.
“I really believe in the direction the Club is heading and it’s a great feeling to know I’ll be a part of that for another two seasons,” McEvoy said.
“Carlton has invested heavily into the program and we’ll start to see the rewards of that from Season 7 onwards, so it’s a wonderful time to be at the Club.
“We have a strong support system around us and hopefully we can continue to build on the performances we started putting together in the second half of last season.”
Carlton General Manager of Women’s Football Brett Munro said McEvoy will continue to grow and excel as part of the program over the coming years.
“Lucy has put herself in the box seat to be a star of the future and her work rate is second to none,” Munro says.
“She has earnt her spot in this side and continues to embody Club values to a tee, showing relentlessness on-field and humility off it.
“Lucy provides constant positivity and is passionate about always improving and evolving her craft, and we are thrilled to have her on-board for another two seasons.”
