Carlton duo Madison Prespakis and Georgia Gee have been selected in the AFL Players’ Association AFLW 22under22 side for a third consecutive year.
Aged 21, Prespakis has once again been named vice captain in the fan-voted side, while 22-year-old Gee features at half-forward.
Only two other players have been selected in the final 22 each year alongside Gee and Prespakis since the side was first formed in 2020.
Both players had strong seasons in 2022 with Prespakis averaging 20 disposals a game and Gee showing blistering speed all over the ground.
Gee and Prespakis lined up for all 10 home-and-away rounds and regularly teamed up in the forward line, including for Gee’s Goal of the Year nomination in Round 9.
Carlton General Manager of Women’s Football Brett Munro said it was fantastic to see Prespakis and Gee recognised for their work this season.
“Maddy and Georgia go out and play their roles every week and have been instrumental to our team success,” he said.
“We have the youngest list in the competition with 18 players aged 22 and under, and the Club is focused on development with the opportunity to build for the future with a young group.
“We also had eight debutants in 2022 and finished the season with some strong results so there are plenty of positives to look back on, and that is only reinforced by the recognition of Maddy and Georgia in this side.”
