Carlton’s senior coach has found himself in esteemed company.

Brendon Bolton has been inducted into the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame, and it’s a privilege not lost on the 37-year-old.

“As a passionate Tasmanian, I am very honoured to be inducted,” Bolton said.

“Tassie footy has produced some great talent over the years so it is humbling to be inducted alongside them.”

Originally from the ‘Apple Isle’, Bolton won a premiership as a captain-coach with North Hobart in 2003 and in the same year also won the league’s Horrie Gorringe Medal as the best and fairest footballer in Tasmania. 

Stints at the Tassie Devils and Clarence followed, before Bolton took over as the head coach of the Box Hill Hawks, guiding the team to consecutive finals series in his two seasons in charge.

‘Bolts’ also spent seven years as an assistant coach at Hawthorn.

Other inductees this year include former Footscray ruckman Robert Groenewegen, three-time Hawthorn premiership player Grant Birchall, late journalist Terry Morris from The Examiner, as well as Scottsdale great Ken Lette.
