Speedster Jaxon Binns arrived at IKON Park after being selected by Carlton with pick No.32 in the 2022 NAB AFL Draft.
The Dandenong Stingrays product finished second in the agility test and third in the two-kilometre time trial at the draft combine, with Binns’ main weapon being his running capacity and being a good option for his teammates.
Binns finally got his shot at the AFL level in Round 7 against Geelong, where he started on the bench as a sub and entered the game in the final term. Getting another chance in Round 23 against the Eagles to play a full game, Binns well and truly made his mark at the level, finishing with 18 disposals and a goal.
At the VFL level, Binns was runner-up in the Best and Fairest after winning the award in 2023 and making the VFL Team of the Year, priming himself for a big push at the AFL level.
The 20-year-old has been making a case for himself over the pre-season, working alongside fellow wingers Blake Acres and Matt Cottrell to get ready for 2025.
