A THIRD perfect game in four weeks.

Sam Walsh just keeps on doing it.

Carlton’s midfield sensation continues to rise among the competition’s elite, receiving the maximum 10 coaches’ votes for his showing against Collingwood yesterday.

In the absence of co-captain Patrick Cripps in the engine room, Walsh was simply magnificent as Carlton overturned a four-goal deficit into a 29-point win against the old enemy.

The chief instigator in the result, Walsh collected 39 disposals (a career-high), 15 contested possessions, five clearances and a clutch goal in the final quarter that sent the Blues on their way to a seventh win of the season.

Walsh now finds himself in equal-third position on 83 votes, just two behind joint-leaders Marcus Bontempelli and Clayton Oliver on 85.

He was well-supported by close mate Matthew Kennedy, who continued his purple patch with a seven-vote performance.

Providing a physical presence at the coalface, a long-range goal in the third term was the exclamation mark for Kennedy, who registered more clearances (seven) than anyone on the ground.

There was also recognition for Jack Martin and stand-in captain Jacob Weitering, who each received two votes.

Weitering amassed 18 disposals, 12 marks and nine rebounds in a typically assured performance down back, while Martin simply made things happen for the Blues.

Its brightest offensive spark early, Martin kicked Carlton’s first goal of the game while assisting two more on the way to a polished performance.
