CARLTON has made one change to its Round 17 line-up against the Geelong.

After serving a one-match suspension, Zac Williams returns to Carlton's back-line to provide some zip and bounce to the defensive mix.

Williams enjoyed one of his best games in his last game against Adelaide before being reported, collecting 26 disposals and a goal.

Williams takes the place of Tom Williamson, who has been omitted.

Zac Fisher or Will Setterfield could also return alongside Williamson, with the duo among four emergencies with the medical sub still to be determined. They're joined by Williamson and last week's medical sub, Matthew Cottrell.

After keeping him to two goals the last time the two sides met, Jacob Weitering - on the back of last week's best-on-ground performance - looms as the likely match-up for Tom Hawkins.

Key additions to Carlton's midfield mix in recent weeks, Paddy Dow and Matthew Kennedy have been named in the starting on-ball brigade at the feet of ruckman Tom De Koning.

Saturday's game begins at 4:35pm from the MCG.
