THE date for the 2021 NAB AFL Women’s Draft is officially locked in.
Carlton will welcome a suite of new Blues on Tuesday 27 July, with selections kicking off at 6.45pm.
The Blues’ will welcome their first selections with picks Nos.10 and 11 after working their way up the draft order throughout the Trade Period to finish with consecutive picks in the first round.

After the first round, Carlton also holds picks Nos.23, 26, 40 and 58 in the following rounds.
The Club’s draft positioning affords it three selections inside the top 13 of the Victorian pool – No.6, No.7 and No.13 – with access to impressive local talent.
Recent picks within the first round have gone on to perform strongly for the AFLW Blues, with pick 2018 No.2 Maddy Prespakis at the forefront of that group.

Similarly, Lucy McEvoy, Grace Egan and Mimi Hill have had an immediate impact after being selected in the first round of previous drafts, while Georgia Gee was the Club’s first draft selection in 2017 after the initial intake a year prior.
Meanwhile, there’s always value at the back-end of drafts, which a certain defender can confirm: Mua Laloifi has played 15 senior games since she was selected with pick No.52.
Youngsters Serena Gibbs, Brooke Vernon and Daisy Walker have also made appearances at senior level since being drafted, with Gibbs and Walker debuting in the 2021 season.
