FOUR stars of Carlton’s 2021 AFLW campaign have been duly recognised for their stellar form this season.

A quartet of Game Changers - Kerryn Harrington, Breann Moody, Madison Prespakis and Darcy Vescio - have been named in the initial 40-person AFL Women’s All-Australian squad.

Unsurprisingly, the 2021 AFLW Leading Goalkicker in Vescio is one of the names, following a season which saw her break all kinds of AFLW records.

Looking for her second All-Australian nod, Vescio kicked the most goals ever in a season and was in unstoppable form throughout the second half of the campaign.

Joining her is co-captain Harrington as well as Prespakis, who could yet make their third consecutive All-Australian teams should they be selected.

Harrington arguably took her game to another level in 2021, achieving a career-high for disposal while also leading the way at the Blues for intercepts, rebounds and spoils in the back half.

Meanwhile, Prespakis continued to do what Prespakis does, averaging over 20 possessions for the second straight year while ranking No.1 at Carlton for disposals, contested possessions and clearances.

There’s also worthy recognition for a career-best season for Moody, whose game has gone from strength to strength in recent campaigns.

A joint best-and-fairest winner at the Blues in 2018, Moody took more marks than any other ruck in the competition, while also ranking fourth for hitouts and third for disposals among the ruck brigade.

The final team of 21 will be announced at the W Awards on Tuesday 20 April, with the event to take place across five different venues (Crown Palladium, SCG, Adelaide Oval, the Gabba and Optus Stadium).
