Carlton Assistant Coach Rob Wiley says composure could be the key to overcoming Fremantle at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.

Speaking to 6PR, Wiley has credited Ross Lyon with the Dockers'  seemingly impenetrable defence.

"Fremantle has set the pace, even with all their injuries. They're a really tough side to crack, but from our point of view we can only take it like the old cliché  - one game at a time."

"We know we have to play very good football. We have to play with a lot of composure and a lot of smartness, because you know you turn the ball over and you're going to get hurt by Fremantle."

Wiley has also heaped praise on Blues swingman Lachie Henderson, who he has described as a "revelation".

Henderson has kicked 11.5 in the past three games, after being moved to the forward line.
