STAR midfielder Maddy Prespakis has been acknowledged for her strong start to the 2021 AFLW season in the Round 1 AFLCA AFLW Champion Player of the Year award votes.
Prespakis earned four votes for her strong performance in the season opener: the 2020 league Best and Fairest gathered 18 disposals and 14 contested possessions in her efforts against the Pies.
One of three Blues to appear in the Round 1 count, Jess Hosking and Mua Laloifi joined Prespakis to finish full-field trio.
Hosking was acknowledged with two votes in her first appearance in a new role up forward, the former defender kicking her first AFLW goal after four seasons in the competition on Thursday night.
Finishing the outing with 11 disposals, five tackles, three marks and a goal, Hosking proved the move up forward to be an inspired one.
