CARLTON has added some additional speed to its line-up in selecting Mimi Hill with pick No.12 in the 2020 NAB AFL Women’s Draft.
Hill has been recruited from the Oakleigh Chargers and comes highly regarded by coaches and teammates for work-rate and leadership over her NAB League career.
The youngster’s speed and class with ball in hand will be welcomed by the Blues, as well as her clean hands and developed craft around stoppages.
Already capturing attention in her bottom-age year, Hill was selected to represent Vic Metro in the first round of the 2019 AFL Women’s Under-18 Championships.
Hill went on to impress selectors in an abridged 2020 season, playing two games with a standout average of 25 disposals, two tackles and four inside 50s across her appearances.
While Hill has played the majority of her footy on the wing, she can also transition across half back, making her a powerful utility player for the Club.
GM of Women’s Football Ash Brown noted Hill’s professionalism and dedication to her football career.
“We are really excited to welcome Mimi, she carries herself professionally and seems like she will be a valuable leader in time,” Brown said.
“She gets her hands on the ball a lot, moves it quickly and we’re really excited to see her put that into play in 2021.”
“Our List Manager Brett Munro has done a great job following Mimi’s progress to this point of her career, which is why we are confident she will be a fantastic addition to our football club.”
