CARLTON forward Levi Casboult will continue to pull on the Navy Blue after signing a new deal to remain at Ikon Park until at least the end of 2021.
Arguably the AFL’s most improved player in recent seasons, the 30-year-old has penned a one-year contract to add the latest chapter to a great football story full of perseverance and hard work.
Casboult has come of age in the Blues’ forward line to now hold his place among the game’s elite contested marks, ranking sixth in the AFL in 2020.
He also finished fifth in the John Nicholls Medal in 2019.
From being selected at pick No.44 in the 2010 rookie draft, over the course of 141 games the power forward has become one of the Club’s most beloved players among the Navy Blue faithful.
Casboult said he was delighted to continue his career with his boyhood club.
“I want to thank all my coaches and teammates for their support and for believing in me over the past 11 years. I’m extremely grateful for my family, especially this year. For what they have given up to allow me to live my dream. Without them, and the club I would not be where I am,” Casboult said.
“I am determined to keep working hard and improving wherever I can to help this club continue to succeed moving forward.
“It really has been a journey so far but I am so excited by where this club is heading and I couldn’t be happier to be apart of it.”
Carlton Head of List Management Nick Austin said the Club was pleased to retain Casboult.
“Levi has worked incredibly hard to get to where he has and he’s earned every bit of that through sheer hard work,” Austin said.
“In addition to being an important player for us on-field, Levi is a great person and much loved by his teammates, staff and also our members and supporters.
“We are really excited about the direction of our group and to have someone of Levi’s experience and quality signed on is important for us as this group looks to continue its on-field improvement heading into 2021.”
