The Carlton Football Club is pleased to have bolstered its coaching staff with Lauren Morecroft joining the Blues as an assistant coach.
Morecroft will oversee the midfield, a role she held for the last two seasons with North Melbourne prior to arriving at Ikon Park. She also played for the Western Bulldogs in the inaugural 2017 AFLW season.
Morecroft has gained extensive coaching experience in the Vic Metro programs and will join an experienced coaching staff headed by coach Daniel Harford.
“I cannot wait to get to work when pre-season begins,” Morecroft said.
“Our midfield group has some of the most exciting young talent in the game in Maddy Prespakis, Grace Egan and Lucy McEvoy, while adding Elise O’Dea gives us a great mix through the middle of the ground.
“I’ve watched from afar the special bond this playing group has built over the last two seasons and I’m excited to be part of that and get to work with them, to help us chase success in 2021.”

Carlton GM of Women’s Football Ash Brown said the Club was delighted to welcome Morecroft to a strong coaching team.
“Lauren has exceptional knowledge of the game, especially at the elite level as both a player and a coach,” Brown said.
“We look forward to seeing her work with our midfield group, which has a lot of exciting talent. We are confident Lauren will help those players get the most out of themselves.”
