The Carlton Football Club embarked on the second stage of its journey under senior coach Brendon Bolton in 2017.
After registering six wins, the Blues finished the season in 16th place on the ladder.
Despite falling four points short of its 2016 output, Carlton won more quarters in 2017, demonstrating the growth of the playing group in its second year with Bolton at the helm.
With the team now on a break, we’re analysing each player’s year in statistics. Here’s the review for defender Simon White.

OVERVIEW
Simon White once again played his role for the team throughout 2017. Whether he was sacrificing his own game to shut down an opponent, or just playing hard, contested footy, he was a solid contributor for the Blues.
In Round 16 against Melbourne at the MCG, White was given the job on Cam Pedersen. The defender had his measure until an unfortunate knee injury ended his day just before half-time.
White finished the season ranked seventh at the Club for one-percenters, highlighting his intent to punch, smother and put his body on the line.
BEST PERFORMANCE
In Carlton’s upset win against last year’s grand finalist Sydney, White played a solid role in defence to help the Blues claim its second victory of the season. The 29-year-old gathered 16 disposals, including five contested possessions, and had five one-percenters.
SEASON HIGHLIGHT
Showcasing his ferocity around the ball, White was awarded Carlton’s Hardest Hit of the Week in Round 19 against Geelong. With the ball in dispute in the Cats' attacking 50, the defender crunched Sam Menegola into the Etihad turf.
