CARLTON defender Lachie Plowman will miss the remainder of the season after scans today confirmed a grade two medial ligament strain in his right leg.
After consultation with the surgeon this morning, Head of Football Andrew McKay said the 23-year-old would not require surgery.
“While it's clearly very disappointing that Lachie will miss the remainder of the season, we were relieved that there was not further damage to the medial area nor the cruciate ligament,” McKay said.
“There is bone bruising around the lateral side, but the pleasing news is that Lachie will not need surgery. We will manage the injury conservatively to ensure Lachie is back for the commencement of the 2019 pre-season campaign.”
The Club is also expected to have an update on the nature of the injuries to Matthew Kreuzer and Levi Casboult within the next 24 hours, following Sunday afternoon’s clash with Collingwood at the MCG.
